“Humankind must learn to understand that the life of an animal is in no way less precious than our own.”
- Paul Oxton
One could argue animal life is inherently more precious, in fact, than our own. For without animal life, humankind has no hope of survival.
As much as I enjoy the beauty of oceans and mountains, seascapes and landscapes alike, I also find peace in watching animals do whatever it is they do. The freedom with which they act, unencumbered with ego-based concerns, strictly motivated by survival instinct and the peace that comes in between times of struggle.
We, humans, are a part of, not separate from, the animal realm. It would help us to recognize this through active protection of other species, and what they depend on to survive.
Through pictures of birds and wildlife in general, I hope to relay some of that beauty and give pause to reflect on what animals mean to us in the bigger picture.
Enjoy.
