Seascapes
“We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea - whether it is to sail or to watch it - we are going back from whence we came.“
- [America's Cup Crews Dinner, September 14 1962]” ― John F. Kennedy
There is something inexplicably soothing about seascapes, whether in person or framed on a wall.
As JFK remarked, it seems to speak to our soul, open in us a connection with the infinite. I particularly enjoy sunrises, offering a special kind of stillness, the proverbial calm before the storms of the day take hold.
I am privileged to live in an area where I can quickly escape to enjoy early morning intimacy with the ocean. Capturing seascapes allows me to bottle up that connection. When I look at them, I remember the exact way I felt when I captured each of these shots.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
